NYCS Prep Step 2 CS Live Program

How much planning have you done for the USMLE Step 2 CS as it pertains to your path to residency? The Step 2 CS is an important component in your exam sequence and there are several aspects of the exam that students underestimate. Before taking the Step 2 Clinical Skills Exam, it is important to fully know the exact details and latest changes so that the exam will go smoothly.

NYCS Prep’s course is designed with the student in mind, understanding that preparedness is the best way to feel confident during the exam. During the first two days of the course, we will guide you step-by-step on how to prepare for each of the three sub-components:

  • 1. Integrated Clinical Encounter (ICE)
    2. Communication and Interpersonal Skills (CIS)
    3. Spoken English Proficiency

Our seasoned doctors have trained over 5,000 students, and many foreign doctors who have a particular need for a prep course to familiarize themselves with western medical practices and terms. For this reason, we place a lot of emphasis on Patient Notes. In fact, our center offers notes timed to 10 min in order to improve our students efficiency and keep them well under time – and now USMLE has announced a new change to the exam to take place on September 10th where they will reduce the time for note-taking to 10 min. NYCS Prep’s course is already geared to prepare our students for these changes.

The third day of our course is the Live Mock Test. Our Mock is a full day just like the exam and allows you to test yourself against experienced Live SP’s. After each patient encounter, you will then type your notes in our OSCE center which is fully equipped just like that of the CSEC test centers in Houston, Philadelphia, Los Angeles, Atlanta or Chicago. Following the completion of your practice mock you will receive detailed feedback from our seasoned doctors.

We are different from other USMLE Prep courses in that we encourage our students to stay at our test center for two weeks following the three-day course to practice their note-taking and case review. We are open from 8am to 7pm Mon-Sunday. Once you are at our center, you will be given a unique account from which you can upload your notes so that your professor can review them throughout the two-week practice period. You also have access to booking Live SPs for practice at our site.

The new Step 2 CS exam format will demand more precise history taking, physical examinations and well-written patient notes. This is why it is recommended you get live practice for Step 2 CS prior to taking your exam. For more information and for bookings, please visit our site at www.nycsprep.com.

"Active participation of students. Concise lecture by Dr Somas. PE taught was spot on. The Mock test was simply an eye opener. And the facility, we get to practice after the course, is awesome. "
