Currently we only offer individualized study programs with highly skilled tutors but are in the process of launching our Step 1 review program sometime early next year. Because of our tremendous success in our other review courses, we have sought to bring the same innovative approach to Step 1 and are confident that when we do launch our Step 1 course, we will live up to the high expectations students have come to expect from NYCSPREP.
Our highly skilled tutors work closely with students to help identify their strengths and weakness and tailor a study program that will help them achieve their true potential. We have worked with medical students as well as old graduate achieve their goal of not only passing but also excelling on Step 1. And although our current sample size is small, as we have only recently started our Step 1 program, our current pass rate is 100% and our students have earned an average performance of 228 on the exam.
Our CK program runs 6 weeks and is offered throughout the year. You can start on any Monday during the year and your course will finish when the material repeats itself. We have designed it this way to accommodate students with varying schedules and commitments.
We designed our program not only to help our students pass the exam but reach their true potential. Currently all our students have reported passing their exam and have averaged 237. We have had a strong mix of students from AMGs, to US IMGs and FMGs who have taken our programs. We have helped many medical students and old graduates alike as different stages of preparation in reaching their goal and are confident we can tailor our program to fit your individual needs.
While all CK review programs may help identify and teach you the highest yield concepts CK, we place an added an unique emphasis on teaching you how to apply your knowledge base. We integrate question analysis and teach you the art of breaking down clinical vignettes in order to arrive at the best answer choice. In helping students learn this difficult art form we are confident you will be able to achieve a score that most reflects your true knowledge base.
While our Live course is currently only held at our Manhattan based center, we do have remote online access available for students who would like to attend the course from other locations. We currently use gotomeeting.com and gototraning.com and their gototraining platform to deliver our class remotely.
Although we have designed our program to maximize your success and ability to achieve your desired goals we do recommend that our students plan for an additional 2-4 weeks after their course ends for additional individual study. We depart you with the necessary knowledge base and test taking skills upon completion of the course but want you to hone these skills with intensive individual prep for the final leg of you CK preparation.
We highly recommend our Premium Package (our most popular package) because it is the most comprehensive package and provides you with additional time to prepare for the exam. But we do understand that because of time restraints and cost not everyone is able to be so sign up for our Premium Package. For those looking for a more cost-efficient program, as well for those who are unable to stay in New York for an additional length of time, we would recommend our Standard Package. And for those who are already well prepared and confident in their approach and are only seeking to assess their overall readiness then our 12 Case Mock Exam Package might be the most appropriate for you.
You do not have to prepare for the CS before coming to the course. We suggest that you come with an open mind, and a willingness to learn. It usually takes about 2 to 3 weeks of intense prep to be ready for the test. You might want to brush up on your typing skills.
Although we have had students take the exam within the week after the course, it usually takes about 2-3 weeks after the course to prepare for the exam. Remember that the new format demands more precise history taking, physical exam and a well written Patient Notes, & practice makes perfect.
We have taught over 4000 students since we started in 2009, and we have a 97 % pass rate overall and a 99% plus pass rate for US IMGs and AMG.
